Today I want to talk about being challenged to create motivation. I took my inspiration from an invitation to a Fitbit challenge sent by my cousin last night.
Being challenged is motivating and can be life-changing. It is how well you take the defeat that makes it good or bad.
I don’t usually go on walks at lunch in the winter because it’s too cold or it’s an excuse I tell myself. Participating in the daily Fitbit challenge made me want to go for a walk at lunch because I didn’t want to be the one not making an effort.
Every once in a while, I would be looking at the status of the competition and it made me want to walk more.
In order to add a few more steps, I stopped one station prior to the one I usually stop on my way home to walk an extra 10 mins.
Every day, I try to at least walk my 10000 steps.
How funny is it that you can be motivated with only a watch? It may not work for everyone, but it does for me.
I won’t be disappointed if I lose, but the point is that it pushed me to move and walk more make me already a winner. Doing it with other people is what makes us accountable. Never let failure stop you, that’s how we learn and get better. This works in every aspect of our life. Failure is what makes us stronger.
