#MusicMonday: A New Song Discovery

Hello everyone,

Happy Monday!! It’s a long time I haven’t done a #MusicMonday post. Actually, I think I have done only one in the past. lol!

Today I want to talk about a song I have discovered on facebook a few weeks ago. The song is called “You are the reason” by Calum Scott.

I love the song the first time I listen to it and it was only a cover I saw at first. I downloaded the original and let me tell you, I cannot stop listening to it. It’s a powerful song. It’s a song most of us can relate.

For those who follow me on Instagram, you probably saw my first attempt at playing it on the guitar. I love the song so much, that I’m trying to learn it! 🙂

My short interpretation of this song is that he regrets the mistakes he did to the girl he fell in love with and he would do anything to get he back and fix what he has done, but it seems it’s too late as she moved on.

A Heartfelt and meaningful song.

Here is the video and lyrics:

You Are the Reason

Calum Scott

LYRICS

There goes my heart beating

‘Cause you are the reason

I’m losing my sleep

Please come back now

***

There goes my mind racing

And you are the reason

That I’m still breathing

I’m hopeless now

***

I’d climb every mountain

And swim every ocean

Just to be with you

And fix what I’ve broken

Oh, ’cause I need you to see

That you are the reason

***

There goes my hands shaking

And you are the reason

My heart keeps bleeding

I need you now

***

If I could turn back the clock

I’d make sure the light defeated the dark

I’d spend every hour, of every day

Keeping you safe

***

And I’d climb every mountain

And swim every ocean

Just to be with you

And fix what I’ve broken

Oh, ’cause I need you to see

That you are the reason

***

You are the reason

I’m a little sad

Just a little sad

I’m a little sad

I need you to hold me tonight

***

I’d climb every mountain

And swim every ocean

Just to be with you

And fix what I’ve broken

‘Cause I need you to see

That you are the reason

Songwriters: Corey James Sanders / Jonathan Michael Maguire / Scott Calum
